He got hurt in a game last night and is possibly out for the rest of the season with a broken leg and torn ligaments in his ankle. I am so praying that he isn't going to be out the whole time, though. Sigh. Stupid Marlins. I am heartbroken that Buster is injured and sad for my boys. I wrote more about the whole thing over on my baseball blog.
Sad me is sad. =(
But...baseball boy in my icon (Eli Whiteside) now takes over as starting catcher and will be awesome. I <3 the Eli to pieces.
Real update soon. I have been badly neglecting this place. Busy with other things, I suppose. Kitten, school, work, etc. Back soon. Really. I swear.

I have the opening scene mostly written and so many little dialogue pieces floating in my head.
Ultimately, my focus for 2011 is still In The Spotlight, (because it is my first love, and I can never leave Ava, Ryan, Lily, Nathan, and the rest of the story behind) but since my pledge for this year's
getyourwordsout is 150K words, I thought I'd put another project into play. Right now, the baseball fic is called Stealing Second, but that is absolutely subject to change. I actually have the title 3-2 Count fluttering around in my brain, but who knows.I also have a hankering to get back to the NCIS series and work with Tony and Hannah again this year. We shall see.
2011 is going to be great. I can feel it. I've got school starting in a week from Monday, and I've got my sweet Cody kitten keeping me happy, and I'm hoping that I will keep my job after this week. My boss is deciding which of the holiday hires to keep on. I am hopeful I will be one of them, but I also know that it's not the end of the world if he doesn't keep me on. I love my co-workers and the place of work in general, but I've already decided that if I should happen to get let go, I will get through the first month back in school, then job hunt again. With luck, I will be done with my AA degree by the end of 2011, or Spring of 2012 at the latest, and I can dive into a new career with a renewed energy toward work. But I can't lie...any good vibes you're willing to share with me about keeping my current job or at least awhile longer would be appreciated! =)
Ugh. Off to bed. Seriously. Work at 10 am.
Happy 2011 to you all! This year will be excellent for so many reasons. I have a good feeling about it. *g*

I'm sitting here with a happy Cody kitten in my lap, purring away. My furry boy and I have had a wonderful Christmas! He got kitty treats, new crinkle ball toys, and felt fishies to bat around.
My work Secret Santa rocked and got me yarn, a new journal and pen, candy, and other little things. My dear
My awesome parents killed me with their gifts this year. I got tons of makeup from Avon and Sephora (yay!) and body stuff from Avon and The Body Shop. My mom got me a gorgeous new silver necklace with an S on it, and a pair of handmade silver earrings with the word 'read' hand-stamped on one, and 'write' stamped on the other. I am so in love! She got me a new red watch as well. My dad got me the San Francisco Giants Champiionship DVD, a Giants iPhone case (squee!), and a gorgeous new bag for school. They both got me my favorite perfume (Britney's "Curious"), a purse, "The Blind Side" on DVD, and a new silver ring with a gold heart inlaid in it. But the BIG gift this year was a brand new Cruz e-reader. Yay for e-books!! I'm so excited! I got a nifty red case with it, and of course, now I need to name the thing. I most likely will stick with a Giants theme. (I already have Cody the kitten, Nate the iPhone, Timmy the iPod, Aaron the Acer laptop, and a stuffed Pablo the Panda). Maybe Aubrey the e-reader. Hahaha.
But--this was an amazing Christmas. I love my parents and my friends so very much. This Christmas Day was excellent as well. While Mom cooked dinner, the Dad and I went to the movies and saw "True Grit". Awesome movie. Not usually my kind of film, but I really liked this one! Came home and had a great prime rib dinner and watched fun baseball countdowns on the MLB Network. Heh.
Anyway. Hope you all have had a wonderful holiday so far! Love to you all and your families!

LEO: Andrew Jackson, in the main foyer of his White House had a big block of cheese.
TOBY: Huh.
LEO: I am making a mental list of those who are snickering, and even as I speak I am preparing appropriate retribution. The block of cheese was huge - over two tons. And it was there for any and all who might be hungry.
TOBY: Leo, wouldn't this time be better spent plotting a war against a country that can't possibly defend itself against us?
LEO: We can do that later, Toby. Right now I'm talking about President Andrew Jackson.
SAM: Actually, right now, you're talking about a big block of cheese.
And one of my favorite moments:
MAN 1: [on radio] Negative intercept. KM warhead has overshot it's target.
BARTLET: It was just enthusiastic.
LEO: By how much?
GENERAL: Uh, Leo...
LEO: [sternly] By how much did it miss the target?
GENERAL: Colonel?
COLONEL: 137.
LEO: We missed the target by 137 feet?
COLONEL: Miles.
LEO: [looks at him, incredulous] We missed it by 137 miles?!
BARTLET: When you consider the size of outer space, Leo, that's not so bad.
COLONEL: Sir?
BARTLET: By the way, the words you're looking for are "Oh good grief." [walks out]

So yeah, the new love of my life...a now 4.5 month old gray/white kitten I adopted through PetSmart and the Madera Animal Shelter. His name is Cody after the awesome that is the San Francisco Giants' Cody Ross.

He is just the happiest cat I've ever had, and he's made me incredibly happy as well. He so owns me, I swear it. I have cat toys everywhere now, and he likes to sit on my shoulders in the morning. He purrs like mad and loves cat treats. =)

Sitting on my lunch break at work, just killing time. It's nice to b working again. I am working as a cashier for Borders Books and I love it! I interviewed right before the Dad and I went to SF for the World Series, and then had a second interview just day later. Then, I got the job offer. I was over the moon!
Right now, I am mere holiday work, but there is a good chance that I will be staying on after the holidays to be part of the merchandising staff. Here's hoping! I would love to have something steady while I am back in school.
Speaking if school, I am excited to go back for my AA degree in January. I already have a BA, but if I want to really change career directions, the AA in Office Administration will really help. I will have general business office skills and medical office skills. So yeah, going back to school is going to be good for me. I needed the change.
Back to work soon. Hope everyone is well and had a good Turkey Day last week!

I don't even think I could gush enough about my boys. From Timmy to Matt Cain, to Buster Posey(see icon), to Aubrey Huff, to Cody Ross (the Boss!!). And then my Aaron...oh, my beloved Aaron. He may have struggled this season, but when it matters, the man comes to freakin' play. Which leads me into the next thing...
The Dad and I actually went to Game 2 of the World Series in San Francisco last Thursday night. And I swear, it was the most amazing experience of my life! We had awesome, upper lever seats, surrounded by awesome other fans. We got to see Lady Antebellum perform the National Anthem, a home run by Edgar Renteria, and the Giants take the Rangers bullpen for a freakin' ride in the 8th inning. We scored 7 runs that inning, leading us to an eventual 9-0 win. We sang along with Steve Perry (who was there in the crowd, leading everyone in song), and generally had THE most amazing time. Plus, my Aaron hit a huge two out, two run stand-up triple. I may have lost my voice screaming for him in that moment. Seriously. Matt Cain is a freakin' workhorse (and I adore him), and the boys were just terrific.
I really can't get over that we got to go to a WS game. I will never, ever forget it, and I get a little teary just thinking about the whole experience, especially that I got to go with my dad, who raised me to be this Giants fanatic. Heh.
So here's to my favorite boys...regardless of what happens the rest of the Series, I am so proud to be a fan of these guys, the best group of misfits ever. Lovelovelove!

1.) The Giants kicking some Atlanta butt tonight in Game 1 of the NLDS. The Timmy with 14 Ks and Buster Posey with an SB (albeit that he really was tagged out, but oh well, ATL was SOL on that call...heh) and Cody Ross with the RBI. Lights out tonight. Gah! Good lord, I love this freakin' GAME! Eeee! My boys are in the playoffs, people. I am giddy. Giddy, I say. I am somewhere in the vicinity of the zone. Seriously.
2.) Getting good mail! Got some money back from my apartment complex and the deposit...yay! Also got my official transcript so I can finally apply for school. And--I got the writing books and new journal that I ordered on Amazon with a gift certificate I hadn't used yet. Hooray!
3.) Oh hell. Tim Lincecum. He makes me happy! (as does Aaron Rowand. I heart him. Endlessly!)
